My mom is 74 and what the Drs. have told us is that she is in the moderate stage. This is the first time I have posted a question. My question is " what are the stages". Some people are saying stage 1, stage 4. I was told there is mild, moderate and servere. Can someone please clear this up for me.

Thank you so much

Hi Simone,

I had only heard mild, moderate and severe also, but apparently some doctors use the numbered stages too. My Mom's doctor had said Moderate when we first went in, and I went into shock. I had been fooling myself that it wasn't Alzheimer's for a long time.

I don't have an answer to your question, but let me tell you that this thread is for website/computer type issues, so you might not get very many answers. If you can, just copy your post here, and put it in another area, like caregivers forum, you will probably get a lot of answers there. Or just retype it in another area.

To all who are posting here. This is NOT the place to post your questions!!
Please go to the caregiver's site and post there! Lots of people read and post there!

Good Luck and welcome!
