Yesterday, 12/5, I changed my preferences to allow "immediate Notification by Email". Since then, I have received 43 alerts(so far), and they continue, even AFTER I went back in twice and changes my preferences BACK!!! I am now receiving alerts to posts from almost 24 hours ago.

OK, I don't know why I didn't think of it first. "The Big One"(my oldest) just fixed it for me, I hope. If anyone ever does this, un-checking the notification box won't stop the notifications that are already being sent. He had to go to the bottom of the email and select "Notification Preferences". From there, you can select which threads you want to stop the notifications for. Now that I know, I seems much easier to keep tract of a thread's new entries.
