My mom broke both arms last month and endured a tortorous recovery with pain.... I kept her at home because of the lack of care she would've received in a hospital or rehab facility. She is really declining with her cognitive state and I spend LOTS of time caring for her when I come home from work.... Some days she sleeps all day, makes sucking (primitive reflex noises) and makes minimal speech... other days she is fairly communicative and I go crazy between wondering if she will make it through the night or whether we are talking about 3 years or so.... she is 92 but in relatively good health.... nutrition is minimal.... Wow!!!! This has really been hard...this is a great site and has been helpful... this is my first entry... would like to hear about whether ambien worked for people or whether the suggested melatonin really is best.... my mother wakes up every 1:30a.m. and seems a bit agitated for about an hour or more... Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!! P.S. I "lose it" every Friday or Saturday!!!!but regain after having a friend visit for a bit.
