I have been reading and hearing more about chelation therapy as a treatment for AD. However, when I googled it, it seems like there are a lot of skeptics. Does anyone have any personal experience with chelation for AD?

I don't have any personal experience, but a neighbor's father since deceased went to Canada for the therapy and for a while he was improved. It isn't permanent, but for a while he could even mow the lawn. I don't know all the details, but I hope that this helps you with your search. Karen Murphy

Dad, Auntie, and now it's Mom. I am a stage four breast cancer patient (bone metastasis) which is being kept stable for now but will eventually get me. Meanwhile I have taken my mom into my home to care for her. I lost my Dad to AD, my aunt and now it's Mom. I will die from cancer, but I truly believe that AD is worse. I don't have time to dig out the article at the moment, but look for a paper from some researcher in Canada about using the iron chelating drug "desferral" to halt the progression of AD. Also, look for an article that shows that phytic acid (IP6, InsP6) is actually a MORE effective iron chelator than desferral or EDTA. In fact, it will snatch iron away form desferral. IP6 can be obtained via rice bran or other grain brans. It is considered the "anti-nutrient" that can actually cause malnutrition in those who eat only whole grains.
