On 11/15 the House failed to override the President's veto of HR 3043, the Health and Human Services bill. HR 3043 contained a provision to increase Alz funding by 16 million dollars. The override failed 277-141, with 15 not voting. The ovveride required a 2/3 majority, so it failed by 9 votes. To find out how your representative voted paste the link below into your browser.

That's unfortunate. Do you know why the bill was vetoed? Were there questionable portions of it at all?

I don't honestly know. The reason I posted this is because my representative did not vote at all and I'm ticked off. 15 reps did not vote, and this bill included more than just Alz funding...it was a great portion, or possibly all of the Health and Human Services funding for 2009. I guess I see it as part of the job that we elected them to do...vote, that is...

Wow. I can't believe that many didn't vote at all. Says a lot, if you ask me!
