What is the latest prevention news? My father got it at 57 and I'm now 52..... I've started taking 2 baby aspirin a day and an omega-3 fish oil pill. Are there any experts out there who can enlighten us?

There are many products around that can help to prevent AD.
One good vitamin is B1, also known as thiamine. This can be obtained from foods such as nuts, peas, green leafy vegetable, and legumes. With AD, the parts of the brain called the cholinergic neurons, which are responible for nerve transmission, start to deterioate. People with AD have less activity of enzymes which are dependant on vitamin B1. By taking B1 vitamin, the progression of AD seems to be slowed down. Vitamin B1 is non-toxic and excessive amounts are easily excreted in the urine. Amounts up to 300mg per day of vitamin B1 are the most common. Vitamin B1 works best as a part of a B complex compound. |
