This is a lengthy article about what has been researched and how the results are being ignored by the medical community. If further research proves the theory out that there is a link between the virus and the development of AD in those who have the gene mentioned in the article, then treatment could begin before anyone begins to show signs of AD. Seems like the researchers aren't taking the connection between virus's and AD seriously enough to do intensive studies on it.
Anyone out there that's been diagnosed, have a history of cold sores? I can't recall my mom ever having them on a regular basis, but of course on occasion she would get one, as well as I. "Life, ya just gotta laugh" BeckyP (Full time cargiver, 11 years, mom AD) |

Somewhere in the medication subforum, there are a lot of posts about this. I don't remember where though. I think (and I could be wrong) that not everyone who carries the virus actually gets coldsores. ______________________ Contact your local and federal representatives to get financial support for providing care for your loved ones at home.
