I found this interesting article in a health magazine. Sounds promising.
Scientists use helmet therapy to treat Alzheimer's http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/249353 Researchers from England have developed a special helmet which can be used to treat Alzheimer’s disease. It delivers infrared beams which stimulate the growth of brain cells. Digital Journal http://www.digitaljournal.com/ Jeanne 'I do what I don't know can't be done'. jeanne5101@gmail.com |

There is a thread about this. Look for "Infrared". Water and people are apparently transparent at this particular wavelength of infrared light, I think it's 1072nm. I think of it like shining red light at a glass of cherry jello. The red would get through, but if you shine a green light through it, it wouldn't.
Anyway... I was looking for a source for the 1072nm "near infrared" (NIR) light emitting diodes, but could only find very expensive ones from a distributor in Europe. The inventors of this helmet think that brain tissue by be stimulate to grow new neurons. I kind of put this idea on the back burner when I read that both lithium and curcumin may do the same thing. swarfmaker rocketmail.com |
