This is my first time here.

My mother is 64 and was diagnosed with Alzheimers 10 years ago. In the last 6 weeks, she has been very agitated and depressed and crying hysterically.

Her doctor decided to take her start adjusting her meds and ever since it has gone downhill. Last week, she was removed from her assisted living facility and placed in a Psychiatric facility. In the last week, she has gone from walking around and not being able to sit still to being slumped over in a wheelchair drooling on herself?!

Any suggestions!?

Stephanie, there could be many reasons for her change in behavior. Has she been seen by a neurologist while she is in the Psychiatric facility (or before)? I presume her doctor did a full workup (labs and exam) to rule out infections, etc?

Just a thought.
