I just found the answer to urine smelly clothes. My father is totaly incontinent and each morning is soaked with urine. a product called urine contamination treatment found at Allsclean.com is what i used. now all his clothes and bedding smells like new. this site also has many other products and helpful hints.I am going more of their products because this one really work miracles. I thought I would share this info with anyone with similar problems.

I'm gonna place an order!

Another product I have found that has a pleasant smell and works quite well is "OdoBan", available at Sams for about $15 a gallon of concentrate. It doesn't remove all the stain, but the odor stays in check very well. I keep several spray bottles of about 50-50 mix handy and spray the carpet about every other day in my parents' bedroom, and every day on the bathroom mats since I only wash them once a week unless obviously soiled. I have used it on wet pillows and it's worked great (although I think I had better get some waterproof pillow covers when I get them new pillows soon) Smiler

I often put pet carpet deoderizer for the carpet cleaner machine in the washer if I need to with clothes and/or rugs with urine odors. (I used to do daycare.) Steam cleaning a linoleum or tile floor helps that. Waterproof pillow covers, while convenient increase sweat for me.

Yes, I agree. This Urine Containment Treatment is great. You can buy it in liter($16.00) and/or gallon($30.00) sizes. The gallon sells out fast.

What's great is that it's a pleasant smell - not overpowering like pine or disinfectant. Just let it set for 5-10 minutes, then wipe up.
However, I usually first disinfect the bathroom with clean-up wipes. I have yet to use the product on the carpeting - got to test a small area first.

Nothing worse than that urine smell. Especially now, when the warmer, humid temperatures seem to bring the odors up.

Peace
Eileen

That's great. We have this problem with my grandmother and her room smells so bad. We spray perfume in her clothes, bed and room; perfumes cost a lot and this product is great.
will have a lok at the link provided. Thanks!!

Wow. I wish I had known about this BEFORE I threw out my son's mattress and got a new one. lol!

Thankfully, my husband is still able to go to the bathroom, so I don't have to deal with that. He HAS had a couple of accidents while sleeping, but not in a long time. But I will check this out, because my 7-year-old has started wetting the bed. *eye roll* lol Not to mention, the cats "go" in odd places, sometimes. Really ticks me off.

I'm so glad I checked into this site this morning because urine in strange places seems to be one of my main problem areas these days. Are the Alls Clean Products available in Canada? haven't had time to check it out yet. I've been using vinegar and water which does work...if you like a room that smells like french fries!

HI RAS:

Just to save you the trouble, I tried to order from Allsclean last week and the online system balked at the point of the shipping costs calculation. I sent an email and got a response both from the tech people and the commercial people, who initially thought it was a glitch in their system/interface. However, once it sunk in that it was an order from Canada (even though I told them when I queried the problem) they were quickly dissuaded by the extra requirements to process and organize delivery. In their words: "We are unable to ship to Canada due to the excessive cost and paper work". So.. no luck and apparently no interest on their part on growing their market. Don't be fooled by the drop down menu and the labeling on their online ordering form which allows Canada and a province to be designated or filled in--they obviously haven't customized their site.

Unfortunate: it looks like a good product and my concern re my mum's clothes are that vinegar doesn't quite do the trick with synthetics.

I am going to keep looking.

Regards

I was tempted to purchase from alls clean as well. However, I ended up at Petsmart and purchased Natures Miracle. If it works on pet stains/smells, I figured it would do the same for humans. And imagine my delight when it actually worked. I even went back and purchased the largest size! Saved on shipping and handling charges too!

Good Luck!

RAS and novice,
The company that produces it does actually have an outlet in Ontario!! I didn't see anything on their website that looked like online ordering, but I'm sure you could just call them. Oh I just noticed that if you click on "distributors" at the left, you'll get a list. No one in Alta, novice, but some in BC that would probably be cheaper to order from, shipping-wise, than the Ont. folks.

Here are the deets:
