Mom had to be placed in a personal care home in an emergency situation. Protective services got involved and tried to place her in a NH. This particular NH is so bad I wouldn't put a dog there. Fortunately, it was early evening and the contact person was not available. Got her into a personal care home but it is not locked. She is in Stage 5/6. I have had my application in a NH since March and we are on the waiting list. Told it would be about 2 months or so. Called my state representative to see if they could do anything but I have not heard back from them. That was 3 weeks ago. The PCH is not locked but they have a buzzer on the door. Found out today that she has left twice. Am anxious to get her into the nursing facility but I don't know what I could do to get her there faster. The PCH owner wants a 30-day notice but I'll deal with that. Area Agency for the Aging has already done the medical assessment and they are recommending nursing care. What if they say she has to leave the PCH? HELP!
