There has been some discussion about the chat room, and how it seems we can hardly find anyone there during they day.
The thought was that some of us might have a better opportunity to chat in the afternoon, than in the evening. So, if anyone is interested in visiting, a couple of us will be there in the afternoon. How does 2:00 Central time sound? Anyone interested? |

Sure, I am on Eastern Time Zone, so that would be 3:00 p.m. my time. This would work for me most days. So count me in.

YES--I am on the west coast--more time in day at times
I am new at this site. Not new to dealing with alzheimers--now with my dad. I like to believe with lots of 'attention', will curtail a lot of declining--he responds well at this point--and always knows us, and we can even have conversations. With my grandmother, and mother, both lost love ones, and 'gave up' and gave in to this desease--my dad seems to thrive on us being around him! Is this possible--to keep him status quo with our 'love' and attention!? I know--don't set myself up--but I feel attention is important--and treated as an 'equal'! dash3333@comcast.net Puyallup, Washington |

I am interested. It would be 5 PM for me which might be hard some days, but also a time of day when I could really use it.

I believe that attention is critical to ongoing health and happiness. My siblings put my Mom in a nursing home and didn't go to visit her. When I got there a month later she was just waiting to die - stopped walking, eating, reading, writing letters, going to the toilet - everything! I stayed with her for a month - 12- 18 hours a day - until my siblings let me bring her home to Alaska with me. She won't ever regain her former wonderful self, I'm afraid, but she is happier just knowing she is with someone who loves her and won't leave her. We just do what we can. Good for you - your dad is lucky. Ginny drandma_90@yahoo.com Aniak, AK |

Hi, I am new to chat rooms and am not sure what to chat about. My wife Susan was diagnosed with ALZ about 2.5 years ago and I am providing her care with some help. I am learning alot and doing as well as can be. I will try to stay posted and contribute to the discusions.
Afternoons would work for me. I live in Oregon. New guy in the room Don Don Wilson donandsuewilson@comcast.net |
