I am only 54 yrs old and I have early stage alzheimers.I to often feel that I am not hungry. I eat very little at meal time and what I do eat I have to make myself eat it.My husband is very supportive and encourges me to eat,I have been eating better since I went to eating some diet foods. My doctor says not feeling hungry is part of this disease and will eventualy will pass.Just continue to encourage her to eat and be patient, the worst think you could do is to preach to her about eating, that is what my family did and when they stopped I started eating but only when I wanted,I made my own eating schedule and I eat better when my family is not hovering over me. delorisd

My wife is 58 and in early stage 7. I struggle to get ther to eat enough to keep her weight up. Before she got seriously ill she weighed about 125ish. After six to nine months on excelon (sp) she lost over 25 lbs and never gained it back. At about 98 lbs she is boney and frail. Can anyone suggest meals that she is likely to eat. btw, my concern is more calorie count than nutrition these days.. I am terrified that she is going to get sick and be in trouble because she has no reserves.
