Hello, and welcome to the message board. I'm glad you found us.
You should consult an elder law attorney on any question like this because the laws do vary from state to state. I suspect the guardianship "trumps" the POA, but I am not a lawyer and have not encountered this personally. The helpline (800-272-3900) may also be able to help you on this one. Ask to speak to a Care Consultant. This message board is divided into many sections, which can be quite bewildering at first. (Don't worry -- you'll get the hang of it very quickly!) This particular section is used for people to set appointments to go to or invite others to the chat rooms. As such, it doesn't get as much traffic as other areas. I would suggest you post this question in the Caregivers forum, where you will encounter many more people. Surely someone has experience with this. Below this message you will see a line that says Message Boards Forum Index > "Chat" Guide > Guardianship. Click on message boards forum index. You will see a list of all the sections, called forums here. Click on the one that says Caregivers, and you will find yourself in the midst of a whole bunch of loving, caring people.
