It breaks my heart to hear about all the people on here who can't continue to care for their relatives AND can't afford to have the proper 24 hour care either. Have you looked into the Alzheimer's association offices nearest you? I know the heart of America chapter in KCK is really involved in helping families get everything they need and they also organize support groups as well. I'm participating in this years Memory walk to raise money for just such needs. my main site is http://kansascitymw.kintera.org/jessicarae if you're interested in checking it out. Or you can email me at; thegrandkidsalz@yahoo.com
I have contacted the one here in Austin (near Round ROck) and they have given sound advice and they are very empathic to my family's concerns we have about educating the world on this disease... klcouncil
I contacted AA on Sunday and should be receiving an info pack from them any day now. My grandma was just diagnosed with dementia/early AD and I've been told to get her on a nursing home waiting list now, because she could suddenly decline at any time.
