Does anyone know how to try to find someone who will take alz. patient into their home, or perhaps a group home. I am seeking an alternative to nursing home.
I'm not sure if I can help, but the woman who cared for my dad in his last years was a wonderful resource for us. She wouldn't necessarily take your patient into her own home, but like I said, she might be good to know. She lives in Wellington with her daughter, who is an RN (my dad was in Palm Beach). Let me know if you would like an introduction. BillB

I live in Orland Park, IL and we're looking for someone to stay with my mother who is 88 but still walks and talks. She needs help with dressing, eating and just basically watched. She fractured her hip but is up walking around. We are looking for a honest, caring, patient woman who can live with my mom. Anyone out there have any ideas? We can't afford a nursing home and want to keep her in her home where she can walk around and live like she has been. Thanks! Trish
