I am writing in regards to my mother (age 73) who has no diagnosis but definite symptoms of memory loss and confusion. I was just at her Drs & he gave me a report from her CT scan. It reads ..."A moderate degree of cerebral atrophy is noted with a frontotemporal prediliction. This is unchanged." (She had a CT scan done a year earlier). Can anyone tell me what this means in layman's terms? Thank you in advance.

A moderate degree of cerebral atrophy is noted with a frontotemporal prediliction
Cerebral - essentially, the brain Atrophy - shrinkage Frontotemporal - two of the four brain lobes, The frontal lobe, where executive function and personality is located, The Temporal lobe - where language is located prediliction - misspelling of predilection definition - Condition of favoring |
