You have a vaporizer, right? That's the most economical way to get your medicine. It's also fast acting, with the down side that the effects last only about an hour and a half.

Milky teas are longer lasting, about 4 hours, but take around an hour to take effect. Many people who make teas, leave a lot of medicinal material in the buds. I find it works really well to thoroughly grind the material, and put it in a tea bag. Blank tea bags can be found, I get mine at Target. Now, put a few tablespoons in the tea bag. Simmer some water with about a tablespoon of real butter. I put the bag in the water, with the upper tail of the tea bag held in place by the pot lid. I use a pot with a glass top, so I can keep an eye on it.

Simmer about an hour. Then, take out the tea bag, turn up to a boil, and add however much you want of sweetener, cinnamon, allspice, and a little nutmeg. Stir in till all is mixed in the buttery water. Then, pour in at least a quart of whole milk - - it has to be whole milk, as it's the fat that dissolves the medicine. Put the tea bag back in, put the lid back on, and slowly bring it up to a simmer. Slowly, as milk boils over easily, which is a mess and wastes medicine. Leave it on that low simmer for hours, 3 or 4 seems ideal. Then remove from heat, take out the tea bag and squeeze every last drop from it into the pot. Add some vanilla, stir, and let it cool.

It's fine to drink warm, but I keep it in a tightly sealed container in the fridge. If you've followed the instructions, a couple tablespoons will be enough to ease the path of most people. Experiment with doses very slowly, as it takes about an hour to see the effect. I don't enjoy the feeling of having too much in me. The amount that is medicinal is less than the amount to get high.

If you're able to, choose a sedating variety, e.g. one of the skunks. Those also help with pain relief. I find the sedating varieties to be better with the tea, and the brightening varieties for the vaporizer. Of course, your mileage may vary, as they say.

Questions?

mom is not always able to vaporize so ingestion is the method. i do concentrates so doses are in drops. seems to be the easiest way for her. i have found that her dose for anxiety and aggression has increased two fold since she began ingesting.

i am very careful about her dose. it has been many titrations to get there without the headyness. have you found your intake increasing at all?

No increase in medicine on my part, with over a year's daily use. That I recall, I must add.

I've made tinctures twice, once each for glycerin and pure grain alcohol. There's an undeniable efficiency to that method, but I lean towards tea and vaporizing.

Have you studied how you can adjust the medicinal effect, whether it hits more in the head, or more of a whole body experience? It has to do with monitoring the trichomes' maturity, which one judges by their color. It's only a little more trouble, but has a significant impact on the medicinal effects.

yes, i do let them go 75% golden to improve sedating effects. she gets a little anxious on the cloudy clear trichomes. perhaps her dose was not correct in the beginning. she was not stable when she arrived and it did take time with pharma as well as mmj to figure the proper dose.

i do love her lucidity with light dose...drops.

thank you for your response, alan.

Hi Alan,

Lynn popping in here with a question. What does one use the MM for? I guess I am asking what symptoms does it help to relieve?? Is it something that is used in the later stages? Just curious - I suppose I should go to the other board but it normally is more than I can/want to try and deciper and handle the information. Sometimes too much info is confusing to me I guess.

Thanks,

Lynn

Lynn, the main uses of medical marijuana would involve helping with spasms, pain, loss of appetite, tension, and more.

The best thing might be to Google "medical marijuana" and look for what interests you.

What you may not know, is that cannabis breeders have spent many years on the medicinal varieties, bringing out specific characteristics. There's so much to learn, and it's fascinating to find something that's really helpful.
