While Dr. David Carpenter mentions powerlines as causing perhaps 30% of childhood cancers, my family and I have lived only 50 ft. from two high voltage lines for well over 30 years.

The evidence in our family is "specific" -- that it is the electric meter or electric clock, or cordless phone transformer (many other items -- see my website --access below sign-off) that is really causing the health problems including childhood Leukemia, autism-spectrum disorders, Alzheimers and more.

The article by Ms. Minton is a very good one, however, there is not nearly emough emphasis on dangers of sleeping close to electric meters and appliances. The evidence has been available for over a decade -- the public is not being informed.

A significant point in the article is that iron in our brains is highly affected by EMF's. For this reason alone (not to mention reduction of melatonin by EMF's and confirmed as being low in Alheimers' patients), "prudent avoidance" must be practiced to avoid developing what I am now referring to as "reactive dementia."

My guinea pig, Kelley, developed Reactive Renal Amyloidosis due to EMF exposures. The pathologist at the University of Minnesota did a complete metabolic search looking for some sort of explanation re "metal overload." EMF exposure was the only explanation..... It is a different form of amyloid that is found in one's brain re Alzheimers, but all 20 different forms of amyloid are related to "toxicity."
