MToddL: Others on this forum will help you with concerns about living your life with dignity and respect as well as becoming as informed and comfortable as possible.

More information is needed re your diagnosis as others have stated. Feel free to ask questions any time.

I am sorry you are having memory problems. Check out my letter to Dr. Marilyn Albert at:
http://freepage.twoday.net/stories/3038870/

You will read about various things we have done to help our family. It is very important to remove electric and telephone equipment away fro close proximity to your bed.

You may want to do some research re "melatonin." I find the book, "Melatonin" by Dr. Russel Reiter to be invaluable as well as his recent studies. You can "google" for more info and links to some of the studies are on my website (although difficult to maintain site due to volunteer webmaster's lack of time).

Feel free to call or email with questions. Make sure to indicate a subject I will recognize. Best wishes and take care - Joanne

To Joanne CMueller Thanks for the post. Still having difficulty finding the online message board and navagating through it. Have been on Aracept for 6 days and have seen great results; gone are the tendencys to fall; drop things in my hand; memory seems to be improved. Will look in to melatonin. Met with our support group yesterday. Are four patients attending and the exchanges between us are profound. Am becomming interested in how patients either come to their diag. through fear or acceptance. I wonder if the difference is those with fear spend enormous energy masking their condition causing it to worsen - those who can feel accepting and not fearful perhaps start medication earlier and perhaps function better - and are a more active component in their on wellbeing. Just a through. I will email you something Thank you so much for your kindness. MTodL

Dear M. Todd: You are very welcome! I hope you are still doing o.k. on the Aricept.

Be sure and check out my appeal to Dr. Albert when you have a chance and also there is some info re melatonin on my website. There is a whole lot more I haven't posted on my website also.

You mentioned you were going to send me an email and unless it somehow got mixed up in my spam folder and I didn't recognize the subject you chose, I didn't receive your email.

Hopefully you will continue to improve and stay functioning in every respect for a long time to come. Take care - Joanne
