Don't know the name of it as I started in mid stream. On Showtime, finished up at 9:00pm.
About a husband and wife who had been married for 45 yrs. from Canada.
She had Alz and when I came into it he kept visiting her at the facility she was in. Very moving, made me cry and cry, and cry. I kept thinking that this is where I'll be some day. But more imporant, anyone who is experciencing this diease or who has LO's needs to see this.
The 1 actress I reconized is Elisibeth DuKakas (my how my spelling has gotn't bad!!)
Anyone seen this movie?
Hugs,
Marcia

Thanks for clearing up Miss Dukakis first name Mark,... I did the same thing yesterday telling my coworkers something.
They pointed out to me the guys name was Dave, not Bill as I was saying.
This is really starting to get emberrising. Makes me want to keep my mouth shut rather than talking to people!!

Marcia, if we don't push ourselves in our weak areas, they get weaker faster. So keep talking!!! Embarrassment doesn't do anything productive, so ignore it and push on, for your own good. If people know what you're struggling with, they'll be happy to support you as you fight.

Marcia,

Don't feel embarrassed. I am constantly mixing up names. I actually will see someone on TV and work to remember her name just for the exercise. It teaches memory retrieval techniques.

One of my tricks is to look at other things and say the name of them in my head. This searching through other memory pathways sometimes results in finding the word or name I was trying to remember. I have horrible word finding problems, especially when stressed by time or the situation.

My wife thinks I an weird because I know the names of so many actors, even some who just do commercials. But for me, I allows me to do the memory recall exercises more often. I often do google searches to find the name of actors that I see regularly on commercials, especially the ones who speak with a voice that is easy to understand and soothing to listen to.

Plus, when you mentioned the movie, I just had to finish your post. Otherwise, I get stuck with unanswered questions looping through my head. Once I answer the question or finish the unfinished idea, I can let go of it and go on.

Before he passed from AD, my father had a need to complete unfinished thoughts or he would be bringing the issue up over and over. This repeating of thoughts and stories is common in dementia. I have just learned to solve the question so I can let it go.
