It's early onset of Alz; he's 55 when he's diaganosed with it. I'm giving you a few of his symptoms. Could you please tell me which stage of Alz he could proabably be in? Thanks
He starts getting pretty forgetful. People say it's coz of oldage, as anyone would. He used to be really active and jovial. He'd no family, but he lived in a close-knit neighbourhood. So he was quite the 'ideal grandpa' of the kids in that locality. The first time a striking symptom was noticed was one night when the kids had gone to visit him. He shouts at them for no apparent reason... saying that his house isn't a playhouse and things. He scares them away. From a few moths before this incident he's been acting really passive and unsocial. After this incident, his neighbour, who's really close to him goes to meet him. When he sees her, he asks her the way to his bedroom, saying he can't find it. Actually he doesn't even refer to it as his 'bedroom'. he calls it the 'kitchen'! When she takes him to his bedroom, he suddenly asks her why she's in there. He says that he doesn't even know her! When she tries to argue, he flings a vase at her. And then, everything's been pretty downhill. Which stgae could he be in? And can the decline be this rapid? I'm waiting for answers. Thnks |

I don't know...these things are really hard to say, but I'd take a guess at 5-6?
The stage system really doesn't help you all that much though--it's really about what kind of assistance or care does this specific person need right now? Emily http://messandclutter.blogspot.com/ |
