OK, well, after reading a lot of these postings, I realize that my memory issues really do mean something, and I need to see a neurologist. I am 55. But I have a question for you - I was fired from my job about 6 months ago and now I don't have health insurance. Does anybody know if there is any medical help/assistance for people without insurance that need to see a doctor for memory problems? If you do, please write, OK?

What state do you live in? The more information you can provide, the better. Call your local 211 or United Way First Call for Help. Ask for a referral to a free or low cost clinic. That usually is a good place to start.

Thanks for the suggestion, there is a clinic not far off that I think I will be able to use.
This forum is great because you can actually read the postings by people that have early onset, and when you hear about their symptoms and experiences, you realize that other people are going through very much the same things that you are, and that you are not crazy or imagining things or over-reacting. Even my family doctor would fluff me off when I repeatedly told him about my forgetfullness, fatigue, attention deficit, how I can't find my words anymore, can't do math anymore, and how much worse I keep getting. He insisted that I was depressed, and then got mad when I told him the anti-depressants were not helping my memory, which is my big problem. A big thank you to everyone who reads and posts on this message board!
