I am new here. This is my first post. My family has history of Alzheimer's. My great grandmother died of it. Her daughter, my grandmother, doesn't appear to have it at 77 but her brother has it bad. My mother owns a research clinic that conducts phase III clinical trials on mainly Alzheimer studies. She did aAricept in the 1990's.
AD and Dementia are terrible. With so many family members experiencing it, I wanted to create a site that I could help them document their memories before they were gone. I thought this might be a bit therapeutic for them too. As many of you on here know, blogging in general can be therapeutic. It forces you to think and get out your thoughts even if they are on a keyboard. Our brains are muscles so we have to work them as much as possible outside the realm of the redundant thoughts we typically put our brains through every day. Anyway, I've set it up so anyone can join for free and you get your own blog, page to upload photos and videos, and a forum to create discussions about life back in the day. Check it out if you're interested. Tell others if you dig the concept. my site- - - - - - "Document your memories...for yourself, your loved ones and to let the world know you were here. Once they're gone they're GONE. http://www.legacyleaf.com/ my blog: http://www.legacyleaf.com/profile/jdoyle1 |

You might want to post this in the Caregiver Section - it may get more reads and attention.
