My Mother is 63 with Dementia/Alzheimer's, and living in a nursing home. She has been having lots of problems with vomiting. She isn't eating very much either. No one can seem to pinpoint what is troubling her. They started Prilosec last weekend, but she continues to get sick. Not everyday, but enough to where it has me very very concerned. Any thoughts? Anyone has dealt with this sort of problem? Part of me thinks and worries that she just wants to die. My Father passed away almost 3 years ago, and I think my Mom is just done trying to go on without him. She's already on 2 different type of meds for depression etc.

some of the dementia medicines can be hard on the digestion, so that is something to be considered. Also because a uti can make you generally ill check for that. Good luck

I would also have her checked for any bowel problems....like impaction. Even though she may have some bowel movement, there could also be an impaction, not something doctors always look for.
