Do you ever feel like your living in the twilight zone? As a 54 year old EOAD/Ftd patient and the caregiver of a Mom with Alz, a girlfriend of Man who lies and can't handle sh**, caregiver of a 12 year old girl (daughter of boyfriend) who has learning disabilities, sometimes I feel like I am loosing my mind!! I feel more stressed than I have ever felt in my life ( well, maybe not, I was very stressed when my husband died of cancer years ago and when my daughter had serious mental health issues) but still I have days when I am not of this world. I am misplacing/loosing more things. I can't put things away anymore because I can't seem to find them again or I forget to do things if I don't have everything in plain sight! My house is becoming a cluttered monster!!!!!! Sometimes, I even forget to take my meds and there are on the counter in the kitchen that I see every morning when I get up to have tea/coffee. I keep a journal that I try to write in every day (lol) I have a large calender on this door outside the kitchen that I try to write eveything on and sometimes I forget to look at it!! AHHH!
Does anyone else have days like this????

Peace and Hope,

Lisa

Lisa, YES!!! Sometimes it's like I'm watching a tv show from a distance, not understanding what the show is about.

For a while, I told myself it wasn't EOAD, b/c I wasn't having what I would call serious problems. Now I'm having problems, and I can't be in denial anymore, which stinks. I mess up taking pills too. I've found a bag of groceries put away in strange places.

I thought Alzheimer's was just a memory problem, but I'm learning the hard way that it involves so much more.

Lisa,
I DO have days like that, and I haven't been diagnosed w/
EOAD/ftd!!! Wink You have alot on your plate. Try to go easy
on yourself; since placing my father in the NH in January,
I feel like my life has become a mess as well!! Forgetting
to write things in my checkbook, letting the cleaning go,
unable to concentrate on much for any length of time. You
are dealing w/ your own diagnosis as well as taking care
of your Mom and others!! Do you have anyone who could call
you each day to remind you to take your meds? As far as the
cleaning, if at all possible, get some help!! I need to also.
Its too much for one person to keep up. Take care, and Happy
Mother's Day.

Matnet4,
Thanks so much for writing. I have found someone to assist with house cleaning. One problem is that I am, not only a person with EOAD, I am, also, a caregiver to my Mom with Alz. My daughter lives away but I guess I could ask her to call me to remind me to take my meds. I just didn't want to bother anyone. Thanks so the encouragement and the tips!!
Belated Happy Mother's Day

Peace and Hope,

Lisa

Lisa,
Happy Mother's Day (belated) to you also!!
Thats great you have found help for the house
cleaning. You have so much on your plate.
God bless you Lisa, for caring for your Mom
while having your own diagnosis of EOAD.
You're one of the "best" and I pray God will
provide all the help you need.
