Hello to everyone,
I just wanted to report that I attended most of the dementia/alz conference Here in New Orleans. Last night my Mom and I, along with another couple, were on a panel where we discussed how we got diagnosed, how did we feel about it, and how were we doing now. We were, also, asked what things could people do to make our lives better. What things we didn't like people to do. And how could the alz/dementia caregivers be trained on our conditions to make things better? I was really surprised how many people came up to my Mom and myself and said they learned alot from us as people living with Alz/dementia!! It was great! I, also, attended most of today's conference which had many wonderful speakers.
Since Katrina, the Alz assn had been closed but now the local Alz assn is really working hard to make some changes around here, along with more education! Kudos to the Alz Assn and all who attended and participated and sponsored this conference!

Please check with your local Alz Assn to see what's coming to your area!

P.S. The Alz. Assn is really working hard on getting an EOAD group together and perhaps each group will meet in their areas and be linked together with videos/computer etc. Sounds really interesting!!

Any thoughts???

Peace and Hope,

Lisa
