My husband was diagnosed 3 years ago with EOAD. He just turned 60 this year. My question is whether any one has heard of problems with weight loss? Recently, he has been losing weight. He eats really well (I make sure of that), but he still is losing. His doctor can't seem to figure out why the weight loss. He is now 6' tall and only weighs 147 pounds! He was 175 when diagnosed 3 years ago.

K4Gordon,
Hello and welcome. I haven't heard a lot about weight loss until the end stages of this disease. Does he take Aricept? I know, sometimes it has a lot of GI side effects. Your husband has lost a substantial amount of weight. The doctor needs to find the cause soon! Has his thyroid been checked? I don't mean to frighten you but many cancers have significant weight loss. Keep being his advocate and find out what's wrong!

Good Luck

Please, keep us posted.

Peace and Hope,
