Dear Laura

Please make an appointment to see your Primary Care Practioner, Honey! You NEED a neurologist consult.

Stay with us here and let us know how it goes.

We love and care about you!

And you are NOT alone! Smiler

Dear Laura,
Ambien is a sedative and can cause daytime drowsiness.
Are you on Ambien or Ambien CR? How long have you been on in and what is the dosage?
Tell your doctor what's going on.

Hi Laura,

This is Sharon, I take Trazodone100mg, and also Effexor XR for depression. Maybe a lot of the being so tired is your thinking about this all the time and it can wear you out. That happens to me a lot. What kind of Dr. have you seen? Get a good neurologist, I have one of the best.If I told people all the things I think about with this EOAD, they would think I needed to be locked up at the funny farm. Let me know if you see a good Dr. and how it goes.

Sharon

Dear Laura,
The others are correct. Ambien is sedative for sleep. This could be the reason you are tired and can't think.
It's time for a check-up with a neurologist who specializes in dementia/AD!! If you're not sure who to see please call your local AD Assn for a referral.

Please, let us know how you are doing.

Peace and Hope,
Lisa

Hey Laura,
Glad to hear you spoke with your doctor.
Most of the time patients diagnosed with AD take Aricept and Namenda. In my case, I couldn't tolerate the Aricept so I was switched to an Exelon patch. I, also, take Namenda.

Neuropsych testing is a very important part of diagnosis.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Also, sometimes it takes our minds and bodies weeks to adjust to new medications!

Peace and Hope,
Lisa

Hi, Linda
I'm glad you spoke with the doc and remembered your correct medication. I'm still looking for a geriatric psychiatrist. Do you keep a notebook for your medications and lab results? I had a small notebook but I find now that I need a full sized notebook with lots of sections for all the meds and tests I have.

I'm going to try to make the chat room tomorrow (Tuesday).

Hello Laura, my name is Tom. I have EOAD and volunteer on this site. In June of 2008 I started taking Arocept and a month later the doctor ADDED Namenda. Please make sure that this drug has been added or switched to for you.
