It has been suggested to get out more, to get a hobby, etc. I have had hobbies, dogs, rose planting and gardening. Roses are a lot of work, but I truly enjoyed them. college classes....all in the past. Nothings seems to work anymore. If I do get excited about some old hobby or new one, lately, I have trouble commiting to it, and usually spend some amount of money that ends up down the drain. I have a real problem comitting now. It is also easy for me to convince myself to stay home so I am not tempted to spend any money. I am trying to pay off all my debts as fast as possible. And every time I do go out of the house, I spend money. I used to laugh and joke "I need a project" Anyone remember that commercial? Any advice would be appreciated.

Marci, You sound like me or rather we sould like Alz/Dem. Now I have project materials in all of my closets and no one to follow through.....

What I have done that helps me have a kinda normal life is to create little "Me Stations" throughout my home.

"Me Stations" are safe zones.... I have one for reading --it has several books and magazines that I want to read and I do make myself read daily.

Another one is this computer ----I come and go on it all through the day.

My kitchen is where I cook very simple meals or meal. I have crock pots so I don't have to continually watch and stir. Spaghetti sauce, soups and some meats.

A cleaning project in my bedroom--- sorting through one closet. So far it has taken me 4 months but I am also finished. Good thing it wasn't a huge closet!!!!! I never even try the big project anymore......

A TV Station....I have Tivo so when things get really stressed I can put on one of my favorite movie, sitcom or whatever and watch it to de-stress.

I think you can get some ideas from the above. :-)

The majority of the day I just wander from place to place and when I get there --there is always something there for me to do. It is as normal as I can handle for today.

Marci, have a great day and keep it simple,

Blessings,

Carolyn

Thank you. I have always had trouble keeping it simple. But, now, I am really trying. And for the last several years, I have told myself just that, to keep it simple. It seems the more I try, the more complicated,my life turns out to be. However, on a brighter note, I called my brother and his wife again, and was able to stay calm this time. They both got on the phone with me. I think they do understand and difinately support me. Again, I thank all of you. You are like a light shining through a very dark world.
