I purchased Twinlab MCT Fuel, Emulsified MCT for my husband, however I noticed it is not pure meaning it has gycerin, Sorbitol, soy lecithin, cellulose, orange flavors, xanthan gum, alphatocopherol, ascorbyl, palmitate.
Is this the wrong one? thanks |

Sounds like you got MCT that has been modified so it is palatable out of the bottle. Otherwise, you would need to mix it with something to make it palatable.
Ascorbyl palmitate is a fat soluble form of Vitamin C. Sorbitol is a safe low calorie sweetener. Alphatocopherol is a form of vitamin E. Xanthan gum is an emulsifier, it makes things thiker. Soy lecithin is just a soy version of lecithin. Cellulose is just fiber. Glycerin has a mild laxative effect. They both are safe. Wanda, the oil is emulsified, that is, it has been mixed with certain other constituents to suspend the oil in extremely small drops in water, so the oil and water won't separate. This makes the MCTs much more "bioavailable" for absorption, digestion, and metabolism.
The caprylic acid in Axona is also emulsified, for the same reason. So the Fuel is the closest thing to Axona you can get. Because there are other constituents, including a lot of water, you would need to give your ADLO 5 Tablespoons of Fuel to get roughly the same amount of MCTs as there are in Axona. This is FULL dose, not what you'd start out giving your ADLO! The benefits won't be as good as you'd get with Axona, because caprylic acid is more ketogenic than capric acid (which comprises 1/3 of the MCT in MCT oils) ... but it's still very beneficial. |

JAB,
How does one sign up with Accera to be a spokesperson for Axona? maybe those of us on a fixed income could benefit. Mark in Idaho I have suffered from concussion and apnea induced cognitive and memory decline since 2001 at age 46. "Be still and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10 |

Mark, I don't think they have official positions ... I volunteer.
If they did have official spokesperson positions, I would have been booted out long ago -- I strongly suspect they would not appreciate me suggesting people try MCT oil/fuel. Seriously, I spend a lot of time researching alternative treatments, drugs in clinical trials, etc, and Axona is the best thing to come along that I've seen. The science behind it is extensive and solid, the clinical trial results exciting, and there are now many caregivers reporting good results with their loved ones -- including me! (I'm glad to hear you're on an income. I'm not ... Gotta find me a way to get a job I can do while caring for my husband. Got any suggestions?) |

$1380 minus $96.00 leaves $1284.00 per SSDI monthly paycheck. That is not really income. It is always gone before it comes. Maybe it should be called outgo instead or maybe come and go, as that is all it does.
What is the shortest time period known to man? The time between your SSDI check being direct deposited and the funds being direct debited. I met someone at a diabetes expo who wanted to talk to me about an alternative long term care planning for those who are medically ineligible for official Long Term Care policies. I never telephoned her back because I didn't know what she was talking about. If I come across that information I'll post it if any one is interested.

19 year decline with intermittent improvement. In a good phase right now since finding pituitary dysfunction, tooth absess and some new supplements. Nevada |

I am new and didn't post my message correctly. It just printed my subtitle.
I found a home business I could do with some of the supplements I take, which has been supporting me for many years now. You might find something like that. It obviously doesn't take much brain power or good memory, just wanting to help others feel better, too. 19 year decline with intermittent improvement. Grateful,
Do you make your income from a retail markup, or is it from residuals from the sales of others you have enlisted as down-line dealers? I have never found any home based nutritional company that can provide any worthwhile income without abusing either the customer or the down-line dealer. I am against providing for my needs at the expense of others' needs. I have an acquaintance who make her income with Nature's Sunshine but she works very hard and has an extremely good personality. My wife made her living with a home based business before we were married. It did not provide much better than her current temp work wages. I can't imaging trying to keep orders organized when I already had a hard time remembering what day of the week it is. But, thanks for the suggestion. Glad to see you have been able to make it work. Although I don't take it for AD, I do use MCT oil daily (NOW brand 32oz for $14.39). I mix powdered curcumin and Bioperine (from Beyond-a-Century) with the MCT. I add about 1 tablespoon of the mixture to my oatmeal and it tastes good.
As far as I know I don't have AD but my paternal grandmother and one of her daughters died with it. |
