Has anyone been in any of the clinical trials of this drug? Know anything about this Wyeth drug? Just read it may be effective for folks who lack the apoe gene. they're moving on to phase III trials. could be first to actually attack the disease??? Says "don't get our hopes up though" I'm in early stage of AD. Barbara
There is information on the Alzforum site and ...http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00575055 lots of good info. Basically, you need to meet certain criteria and hopefully live near a clinical trial location.
All costs are paid for by the researchers. Most trials, a cetain percentage of folks get the drug being researched and the others get a placebo. At the end of the study, if the results are good, then the placebo patients get drug right away and do not have to wait for final FDA approval.
