My Mom has lived with me for 3 years with LBD/PD.With Hospice wonderful help I was able to keep her home with me.She went peaceful in her sleep. It's been a long hard road, she was like my child and I the Mom.We had some close moments. When she was scared I would crawl in bed with her, we would sing "You are my sunshine".She was a kind and caring person. The house is so silent.

I'm sorry for your loss. What a blessing that she was able to pass on in her own home.

Dear clcarol,
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are not alone and that your heart is full of wonderful memories of your mom. She was very lucky to have such a wonderful daughter.

I lost my mom to AD in February. Not a day goes by that I dont think about her. Many of us who have lost LOs to dementia also post on the "Caregivers who have lost their loved ones" message board on this site. Plese feel free to join us there.

Peace,
Mari

What a wonderful gift you were able to give your Mom! To die at home with her loved ones around her. I can only hope and pray that it will happen to me that way.

She was very blessed as were you.

I hope you find the peace you need.

Thinking of you,

Peace and Hope,
Lisa

Dear cicarol: Please accept my sincere condolences re the death of your beloved mother.

Your post touched me very deeply. "You Are My Sunshine" was my father's special song for me, so when I hear of it being sung with love, I can feel the warmth of it once again.

You are a loving and awesome daughter and have been a tremendously effective advocate for your mother.

I understand how empty the house feels, I lost my mother in July and I still turn to call her or to do something for her.

They will always be in our hearts. I wish you peace and solace.

With a Soft Hug,

Johanna C.
