Is anyone available to chat? I care for my 81 year old Dad who has Alzheimer's and lives with me in NC.

Hello KnowItAlz:

I extend a warm welcome to you and am so glad to have you amongst us.

Sheryl is meeting you in the Chat Room, and I would also like to invite you to communicate here in the Caregiver's Forum as well. You will get many more responses that way.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you better, let us know how you are doing.

Best wishes,

Johanna C.

Know, You did not come back to chat room for a while and I had to leave.
Please post the issue if your father's diarrhea does not get better. You did not tell me if he was taking something for constipation?
A lot of elderly folk are so worried about constipation that they take too much laxative. So explain the issue further and you will surely get some great advice here.
Thanks, and please post again.
Sheryl

Dear KnowItAlz: I hope things are improving for you and your Dad.

If his diarrhea persists, it would be a good idea to have him closely monitored with labs to keep tabs on his electrolytes and other labs so as not to run into any untoward issues.

I hope things are a bit better.
