Does this sound right at al----"I so and so being of sound and disposing mind and memory , but mindful of the uncertainties of human life I hereby"---Thats the opening line--we contacted another lawyer who basically said the best way is to get dad to someone who will make out a NEW will for him and we videotape the whole thing but we may have trouble finding someone who will touch this. How 1 person can get so greedy and cause choas in a very small family. Gotta get some groceries for dad. Chris

Chris,,,,get with an Eldercare attorney,,they work for your Dad,,but will be of fair and honest help,,and redo that will. Just call your local senior resources,,and they should be able to give you a good reference for an honest eldercare attorney. Peace

Raven is right on with her advice. Also, do contact Adult Protective Services.

Well we have it set-up for another Attorney (the original) and dad is going in for a full physical evealuation next week just to update where he is at this point. By the list he seems like a 4-5 on the scale but those are probably his worst days. Ive changed my shift at work from days 7-3:30pm to the graveyard--11pm -7:3m am . Thats really gonna bite and I start it today. This way I can keep a watch on dad during the afternoon early eve. Did you ever start feeling sick for doing something you know is right. My minds a mess , I can barely eat and now my whole life changes with my job. I worked days my whole life and im always up at 4am so this is going to be quite an adjustment. On a side note I called the local chapter of Alz.org here on the Island and it seems my mom had called them in Oct. The woman gave me detailed info about what she said. She told her that they were seperated -not divorced --she had 3 sons who did nothing for dad possibly due to him not playing with us when we were young-that she was the primary caregiver and had to quit her job to look after our dad---was a recovering alcoholic with 15 yrs clean ( she probably has 1 day). What a crock she has'nt worked in soooo long thats why she's in a financial mess. I just feel so weak and that were fighting an uphill battle. We were also told and will file some sort of complaint against mom with the proper authorites. I just keep saying to myself why ,why does this have to become such a mess. Thanks for having a board like this for people like us and persons like myself.-Chris
