Oh, I hope you can find at least some relief in the peaceful passing and that you were able to give her a sweet goodbye. The only words I can offer as you adjust to the changes in your life is to take one day, one moment at a time, and allow yourself all of the emotions that will ebb and flow. And know that you are lifted in prayer.

Dear Cfrich, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. However, I am happy that she is no longer suffering with this awful disease and is now at peace. May you find comfort in your memories of her before this illness and strength to cope in the days to come.

cfrich, I too am sorry about your mom. She has been set free, which is a wonderful thing for her. However, you face some tough times now without her. Saying goodbye to our moms is definitely one of the hardest things we do. You are in my prayers. Please visit us on the "other" forum when you are ready. We have all lost our ADLO's and now deal with different issues. It can be a great place to visit on those days that are especially tough (just like here).

Our household has revolved around her care for so long that it's hard to imagine what it will be like without her.
This forum has been a great resource and comfort. Thank you all.

I too am very sorry for your loss. You sound like you had a loving and warm household taking care of her. As hard as it is, it certainly teaches everyone of us loving lessons to be passed onto our children. May God bless you.

my tears are flowing for you--- for the pain of this journey and for the extreme love that helps us through the toughest of hurdles as we struggle through these long goodbyes. May your heart find peace as you adjust to leaving the caregiving duties behind. You will continue to carry her in your heart, and she will always be your mom, whether she is here or beyond. May memories of laughter and joy outshine the loss and difficulty of recent days as you continue to take one step/one moment at a time.

I'm so sorry, my dear. And yes, the next few months are going to feel odd as you re-acquaint yourself with the world. Take it slow and take comfort in the fact that you helped your mom find peace in a loving, safe environment. My thoughts are with you. -Mary Ellen
