At the ALZ center, it seems MIL is not just refusing her own bathing but stiring up her roommate to rebel and not take a bath either, and now the workers are having problems with the roommate as well.
She is apparantly one of the more challenging patients they have had. I don't doubt that. She actually did pretty well at Christmas, she went about an hour before she started screaming at everyone. Do they ever kick people out of an ALZ facility? That is the only one in the town so I am kind of concerned. |

Good question. I think it must vary somehow. I have seen posts here where it has happened, but also read that there are rules and laws that must be followed.
I wonder if they might transfer her to the psych. unit to get her meds balanced and then back? Trouble and the Grace to bear it, come in the same package. |

The one psych unit in the town (seperate from the ALZ place is the one that they took her to when they had to pick up up wandering and angry in the streets last year.
They are also the ones that just let her leave and go home when she refused to get on the bus to take her to the ALZ unit (that was waiting for her). Claimed we didnt' have a Health PofA (they had it on file) and didn't call until after she was released (SIL would have driven straight there with another copy)So I don't trust this place at all. The doctors at the unit were the ones that strightened out her medication and she was doing so well, they curbed the actual violence and seemed to adjust her medication very well. I feel the Doctors are very good and know what they are doing, so I am not sure why they haven't been able to adjust medication for this new problem. Maybe she is progressing, but I thought they tended to get less angry as they progressed. She is very scary. I am still able to pretty much redirect her, bur it takes constant redirection. She turns back and forth on a dime. Its not a help that the one who can actually make the medical decisions is the evil brother who volenteered to be guardian to get control of her money. He never calls her and only visits when there are at least 5 or 6 more people with him. He was complaining at Thanksgiving about the the cost of her medical bills, I wouldn't be surprised if he made them take her off something that was expensive. |
