3 years ago today I came to this site for help for answers.
I got them. Even with all the information in the world, nothing can make the going any easier - you just have to live through it. Dad - memory wise is somewhat stablized. His BP is totally out of wack, he was taken off 1 of 2 meds for Diabetes. Mom, his 24/7 caregiver is declining. Post-polio symptoms make her weak, her spine is curving more and she can't stand for long periods. Only 1 sib is still in denile about the whole situation. And so it goes . . . Peace Eileen |

Look at it this way, Eileen. At least in these 3 years there has been improvement in the performance of the Chicago Cubs. Maybe this is the year. --Jim

I was just thinking how this disease is more like a marathon than a sprint race.
When you first get the diagnosis, you're frantically running around for answers, for soultions. The 'Maybe we can fix it' mentallity. And as the years wear on, you find that you need to pace yourself. Save your strength, develop new strategies for coping. There is an end to this race, you just don't know when. Peace Eileen |
