When I was little she use to sing to me, “Daisy Daisy, what am I gonna do? I’m half crazy for the love of you..”
Me and my cousins use to rap for her while she drove us around to keep her awake.
When I was six we got in a little car accident, my first one, I have a scar that will forever remind me.
At her old house, me and my cousin found a little bird, named stripe, he died. My grandma made a funereal service for him.
We use to play in the big field behind her farm house, when we got scared because of a ‘monster‘ in the field, she would tell us there was nothing to be afraid of. We use to play at the farm by her house, she would drive us over there to look at the animals.
We had Easter at her house, we had Christmas at her house too; I helped set up and put decorations around the house with her.
We use to always play in the front room and eat her little candies.
She use to let us sneak butterfingers out of her husbands secret drawer.
We use to always go for ice cream…
The little things start coming back once her little things start to leave. We watch her everyday and see how much she’s changed. We cry when she turns the corner. We laugh at her conversations with herself in the mirror. We help her do the normal things she could have done two years ago. We look at her face and how it’s changed. We see how much she loves her dog more than us. But we still love her. And I know I remember, my grandma…

Hi Bella Rose

Your musing made me think about "Daisy, Daisy"--it's a song that your grandma's mama probably sang to her when she was little.

I just posted on the FOrum an entry "Sing a song" that has a link to a songbook you can print up.
Music is amazing-- even when an Alzheimer's patient has stopped speaking, they often perk up and sing along when music starts.
and it's actually fun for caregivers too!
