Like many of you, I too had a loved one, my father, who had Alzheimers. He recently passed away in Jan. of 2008. I am a country music artist and wanted to share my thoughts in song I wrote to him. Unfortunately, he died the day I recorded the song. I was able to sing it at his funeral and I know he was there with me when I sang it. I would like to share the song with the many of you out there who care for loved ones with this disease and for those who battle it everyday! Here is the link.

Darrin, I listened to your song and it so beautiful. A song that touches others and also has such personal meaning to you is truly special. The line "He thanks God that he still knows his name" hit me especially hard. My mom no longer knows who I am but the other day, she said "I'm Martha" and I thanked God that she still knows her name. Thank you for sharing your sentiment and your talent.

Hi Julie, sure do appreciate the comments and you taking the time to listen. It's good to know you heard the lyrics and understood them! I believe we both understand how hard this disease is on loved ones and the person who suffers from it! This is why I wanted to share the song with others. Thanks again!

Darrin
